March/April 2014 Projects

We are currently working on developping two brand new sites. Early days so hush hush for now, but more details to come. All we can say right now is that they are not dance-related!

In the meantime, we've also added new pages and updates to sites such as Tri-Link and Invertigo, as well as done some more video work.

StirStudios started the year full charge with two new website developments - more details to come on these two projects.

We've also been on location filming shows for Lineage Dance, Pasadena Dance Festival, Invertigo Dance Theater, and Mother.Redux, some of which we've also edited.

And on the graphic design side: we've redesigned a simple and slick stationary set for Tri-Link FTZ, to accompany the new responsive website we also created for them.

EarthStyle logo illustration

Isak Ziegner came to Stir, after a referral from one of our favorite clients. Isak's new business EarthStyle aims to inspire people to grow gardens in the city.

Stir created the EarthStyle logo based on a tomato plant sketch, illustrating it from scratch following Isak's vision. A fun and different job for a fun and different kind of business!

Lake Breeze - Short Film

Sep

This month saw StirStudios working on a project called "Lake Breeze", short film written and directed by client Luke Stephens.  It was entered into TropFest OZ and the whole theme was about change.  Shot, filmed, edited, scored and color grading all under a month and it was loads of fun!  StirStudios was only taking care of the editing, color grading and compression but the collaboration was wrapped around our project management system.  So awesome to see how things can be done with all sorts of people from around the world, not in the same room!

Hawkins School of Performing Arts makes a bolder statement

Stir just wrapped up another logo design, this time for the Hawkins School of Performing Arts. The client reached out to us to change their logo, which she said "looked like it belonged on a towel". They had a fairly clear idea of the color palette, and the text format for the name of the school, Stir needed to come up with a logo "H" that supported the school's strong spirit. Another important aspect was for the logo to be on a black background, so it could be printed on black colored apparel for students.

Invertigo's new responsive website

Invertigo Dance Theatre thought it was time for a site upgrade. Their two main reasons for the upgrade was to make sure their site looked great on as many different mobile devices and desktops as possible, as well as accomodating the many things Invertigo now does. A new color palette was introduced as well as a slew of new features: homepage slideshow to showcase their awesome photos, fancybox social media sharing so they can promote any photo through the social media world, password protected pages for promoters and presenters, photo galleries as well as event and repertory listings.

Artist Director Laura Karlin has been receiving much praise about the new site.
